Don’t Become A 2018 Winter Storm Statistic

Bumgardner Office Building

Since yesterday morning, Charlotte has been transformed into a winter wonderland. If you were able to stay inside and not go anywhere, it was the perfect excuse to get settled in with a good book or movie. However, if you needed to get to work or venture out, you were facing extremely icy and dangerous conditions.

In fact, since this morning, it has been reported that over 300 wrecks have occurred and there were 55 road blockages.

“To put it frankly, if you get in your car right now, you’re putting yourself in danger,” stated Thomas Bumgardner, attorney with the Law Office of Thomas D. Bumgardner, PLLC.

Around 4 P.M. on Wednesday afternoon, Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) reported that they “surpassed the number of crashes CMPD typically works a day and it’s not even “rush hour.”

Today, the afternoon temps are supposed to reach the 40s. However, the temperature will drop below freezing again tonight. Road conditions are expected to remain hazardous through tomorrow morning. Please exercise extreme caution if you have to drive. If you don’t have to drive, please don’t.

Please call the Law Office of Thomas Bumgardner at (704) 870-4779 if you are in an accident because of winter weather conditions. We’re experienced and we’re here to listen to your situation and to offer our professional guidance.
